The world of mechanical watches offers plenty of material for fiction, a fact most recently demonstrated by a new special edition from Doxa<\/a><\/strong>. The Swiss company, most famous for its diver\u2019s watches, is commemorating the internationally recognized author and maritime explorer Clive Cussler (1931 \u2013 2020). The acclaimed American adventure novelist wrote over 85 books, selling over 100 million copies, and discovered scores of shipwrecks through the non-profit agency he founded called, NUMA. Cussler\u2019s books have been adapted to the big screen twice in Raise of the Titanic <\/em>(1980) and Sahara <\/em>(2005). <\/p>\n

His novels also helped to introduce Doxa to a broader audience. The brand\u2019s famous orange dial, for instance, was monumental in coming to Cussler\u2019s renowned fictional adventure hero, Dirk Pitt\u2019s<\/em> aid, enabling the adventurer to read the time accurately while diving on his deadline driven missions. Cussler himself was an enthusiastic Doxa fan and wearer of Doxa watches. Submerging in its history, the brand now introduces a decidedly cool look to its catalog. <\/p>\n
