In addition to the new 42mm version of the Classic AVI 42<\/strong> released earlier this year, Breitling<\/a><\/strong> is launching a special limited edition ref. 765 AVI 1964 Re-Edition<\/strong>. This pilot\u2019s watch collection was first introduced in 1953 as the ref. 765 AVI, also known as the \u201cCo-Pilot,\u201d and refined continuously throughout the ensuing years. It was not only appreciated by professional aviators, but also enjoyed great popularity among other watch enthusiasts. <\/p>\n

One particular reference, the 765 AVI from 1964, with a black bezel and reverse panda look, was especially popular among both celebrities and sports personalities. Included in those accolades is French skier Jean-Claude Killy, who wore the watch when he won the gold medal in all three disciplines at the 1968 Winter Olympics. This statement piece is referenced in the new ref. 765 AVI 1964 Re-Edition, limited to 164 pieces and powered by a manual wound movement.<\/p>\n

It includes a true-to-the-time hesalite crystal, as well as the baton indexes and Super-LumiNova coated pencil hands used on the original. The 41mm diameter steel case also features modern-day advancements, like the durable amorphous ADLC-coated bezel lending it its expressive black finish. At its heart ticks Breitling\u2019s genuine movement B09 with manual winding, which offers a power reserve of 70 hours. Referencing the watch\u2019s original 1964 release, the case back is engraved \u201cOne of 164.\u201d This picture-perfect retro-style pilot\u2019s watch is attached to a black calf leather strap.<\/p>\n
