WatchTime New York 2023<\/a><\/strong> is only a few short weeks away, with the three-day horological fair poised to be one of the biggest collectors\u2019 events of the year. Taking place from October 20th to 22nd at Manhattan\u2019s Gotham Hall, over thirty brands are set to showcase some of the most important watches in the market today, all live and in-the-metal. Among the brand\u2019s joining this year is Roger Dubuis<\/a><\/strong>, which is set to highlight one of their summer launches in the new Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the new timepiece, Roger Dubuis once again demonstrates its technical prowess in the field of high-end mechanical chronographs. Inspired by motorsports, the 45mm watch is equipped with a carbon case and ceramic bezel. With skeletonized flanks, lugs, and rocker pushers, it adopts various features from the dynamic world of racing. The same applies to the five-arm rotor, which is designed like a rim. Under the hood ticks a fully integrated chronograph caliber with flyback function, which Roger Dubuis has braced against shocks, gravity and magnetism.<\/p>\n

Named the RD780 automatic, the manufacture caliber features several technical and aesthetic innovations, such as the chronograph clutch equipped with the \u201cSecond Braking System.\u201d This mechanism adds stability to the stop-seconds hand, the display of the column-wheel mechanism on the dial side, and the balance at 9 o\u2019clock, which is inclined at an angle of 12 degrees and, according to the watchmaker, has an inertia like a tourbillon, which enhances both precision and resistance. Diamond-coated silicon elements in the escapement provide resistance to magnetic fields. Perhaps the most impressive feature, however, is the minute counter placed at 3 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n

The patent-pending mechanism is equipped with a three-part hand bearing the digits 0, 1, and 2 and precisely runs along the numerals 0 to 9 on the right side to indicate the elapsed time. In addition, the RD780 offers a power autonomy of 72 hours.<\/p>\n
