The story began in 1963 when <strong>Jack Heuer<\/strong>, the forward-thinking CEO of the La Chaux-de-Fonds based Swiss tradition brand, unveiled a timepiece that was custom-made for the world of motorsports. Named after the treacherous <em>Carrera Panamericana<\/em> road race, the Carrera Chronograph embodied the spirit of speed, adrenaline, and a relentless pursuit of precision. Little did they know that this creation would become a symbol of TAG Heuer\u2019s commitment to pushing boundaries.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2248\" src=\"https:\/\/pureluxurymag.com\/watchnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/celebrating-champions-tag-heuer-introduces-latest-carrera-chronograph-in-gold-panda-style.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-153595\"><\/figure>\n<p>As was to be expected, TAG Heuer celebrated this charismatic chronograph with many new introductions throughout the year. Among them the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/wristwatch-industry-news\/the-tag-heuer-carrera-chronograph-x-porsche-orange-racing-hits-the-road\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/wristwatch-industry-news\/the-tag-heuer-carrera-chronograph-x-porsche-orange-racing-hits-the-road\/\">Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing<\/a><\/strong> in February 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/featured\/tag-heuer-carrera-skipper\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/featured\/tag-heuer-carrera-skipper\/\">Carrera Skipper<\/a> in July 2023, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/featured\/back-on-the-race-track-tag-heuer-and-porsche-launch-carrera-chronosprint-x-porsche\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/featured\/back-on-the-race-track-tag-heuer-and-porsche-launch-carrera-chronosprint-x-porsche\/\">Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche<\/a> in September 2023. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped\"><\/figure>\n<p>Probably the most significant debut took place during Watches and Wonders 2023 in March with the unveiling of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/wristwatch-industry-news\/watches-and-wonders-2023-tag-heuer-carrera-chronograph-glassbox\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/wristwatch-industry-news\/watches-and-wonders-2023-tag-heuer-carrera-chronograph-glassbox\/\">Carrera Chronograph Glassbox<\/a>. It earns its name from its sapphire crystal, which is shaped like the domed hesalite crystals found on some vintage Heuer Carrera models from the 1970s. Only now it has been redeveloped with modern technologies so that the curve flows seamlessly over the tachymeter scale that runs around the dial edge and into the case. In addition, the minutes scale running around the outer edge of the dial is highlighted by an orange dot over each hour marker.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped\">\n<ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\">\n<li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2250\" src=\"https:\/\/pureluxurymag.com\/watchnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/celebrating-champions-tag-heuer-introduces-latest-carrera-chronograph-in-gold-panda-style-1.jpg\" alt data-id=\"153612\" data-full-url=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/CBS2240.FC8319_FOCUSf-scaled.jpg\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.watchtime.com\/?attachment_id=153612\" class=\"wp-image-153612\"><\/figure>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The latest Carrera coup comes in form of a beautiful panda-style chronograph housed in a 18k 3N yellow gold case in the line\u2019s signature 39-mm diameter and furnished with a gold dial. Like every Carrera, it has an interesting story to tell. Back in the 1960\u2019s and 70\u2019s, Jack Heuer would reward some of the great race champions of all times, among them Nikki Lauda and Ronnie Peterson, with gold executions of the Carrera, with their closed case adorned with a personal inscription.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2248\" src=\"https:\/\/pureluxurymag.com\/watchnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/celebrating-champions-tag-heuer-introduces-latest-carrera-chronograph-in-gold-panda-style-2.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-153616\"><\/figure>\n<p>It seems fitting that the last chapter of the anniversary year is concluded by a yellow gold edition, featuring the beloved Glassbox design which encompasses the watch\u2019s overall aesthetics. When viewed in cross-section, the watch\u2019s silhouette is fluid thanks to the seamlessly curved edges of the domes sapphire crystal, yet also angular due to the case\u2019s taut flanks and lugs.&nbsp;The gracefully curved flange not only amplifies visibility but also simplifies the reading of the 60-second \/ minute scale that encircles the edge of the dial.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2250\" src=\"https:\/\/pureluxurymag.com\/watchnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/celebrating-champions-tag-heuer-introduces-latest-carrera-chronograph-in-gold-panda-style-3.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-153617\"><\/figure>\n<p>Under the hood ticks TAG Heuer\u2019s in-house chronograph movement Heuer 02, listed as TH20-00 and introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023. It features a bi-directional winding system and has an 80-hour power reserve.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2248\" src=\"https:\/\/pureluxurymag.com\/watchnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/celebrating-champions-tag-heuer-introduces-latest-carrera-chronograph-in-gold-panda-style-4.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-153619\"><\/figure>\n<p>The watch is accompanied by a black perforated calfskin leather strap, secured with a 18K 3N yellow gold pin buckle.<\/p>\n<p>Pricing is marked at $21,500.
