The name Vulcain is mainly associated with the legendary Cricket, an alarm watch that was introduced in 1947 and made history as the “President’s Watch” on the wrists of many US presidents. Now the traditional Swiss brand is giving new life to a chronograph from its archives, dubbed the Chronographs 1970’s.
The 316L stainless steel case is presented with a moderate diameter of 38mm and four different dial color choices: blue, black, panda silver, and salmon, with the latter being limited to 50 pieces. Finished with a sunray brush, they display a very subdued style, distinguished by white or black hour markers and a bicompax layout. There is also a tachymeter scale displayed on the flange. Inside the case is a hand-wound movement, the SW510 M BH, which offers a power reserve of 63 hours when fully wound.
Pricing for the new Vulcain Chronograph 1970’s is marked at $2,650.
