The latest version of the Bauhaus and Deutscher Werkbund inspired three-hand timepiece, which is distinguished by five Arabic numerals and a bold small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, is presented in a pink gold case, a first for this model which is one of the bestselling watches in Germany and available in a host of variations, case sizes and added complications.
As dubbed in the name, the Tangente Rose Gold neomatik 175 Years of Watchmaking Glashütte, is an homage to the history and legacy of Germany’s horological capital which is nestled into the Saxon Iron Ore Mountains. As such, it is limited to 175 pieces.
The white-silver dial has the typical Tangente look, however offers a two-tone twist with a color-coordinated outer ring. The sleek hands are likewise color-coordinated, as ist the slightly recessed dial for the subsidiary seconds.
As fans of the brand are aware of, the word “neomatik” on the dial refers to the automatic manufacture movement DUW 3001 that ticks beneath it. With a height of just 3.2mm and chronometric precision, it is equipped with the Nomos swing system.
It goes without saying that the exhibition case back displays a superb finishing quality in accordance with Glashütte fine watchmaking, such as Glashütte striping, Nomos perlage, tempered blued screws and sunburst on the ratchet and duplex wheel. Measuring 35mm by 6.9mm, the solid pink gold case is attached to Nomos’s signature Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap in brown.
