Chopard’s Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF, unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva, features the cutting-edge caliber 01.12-C with a frequency of 57,600 vibrations per hour, equivalent to eight hertz. In addition, this automatic manufacture movement offers a power reserve of 60 hours and is a certified COSC chronometer.
Measuring 41mm in diameter and only 9.75mm in height, this luxury sport watch comes in a case made of titanium with the typical design codes of the Alpine Eagle. The case and the links of the metal bracelet are mostly satin-finished, while the central links and the the edges of the rounded case are polished. The case also offers water-resistance to 100 meters.
The pitch back dial of the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF features the typical pattern from which the timepiece takes its name – the “iris of the eagle,” a tribute to the sharp eye of the majestic bird that inspired the collection. It features reduced hour markers and a Roman numeral twelve. Cool contrasts are created by the orange seconds hand, whose counterweight is designed as an eagle feather, and the filigree seconds scale. The lower part of the dial also displays the flash logo in orange, which distinguishes the watches from Chopard that operate at this particularly high frequency.
This exceptional feature is also enshrined on the sapphire crystal caseback, which reveals the high-frequency automatic caliber 01.12-C. Based on the former L.U.C movement 01.06-L, it was further developed into a new version in 2021, which is now used exclusively in the Alpine Eagle collection as 01.12-C. The pallet, escape wheel and lever jewel are made of silicon.
