WatchTime New York 2023 is only a few short days away, with the incredible collectors’ event to once again take place at iconic Gotham Hall in the heart of Manhattan from October 20th to 22nd. Among the over thirty-five leading watchmakers joining the event this year is avant-garde watchmaker HYT, who this year will be returning to highlight one of their latest novelties in the new Conical Tourbillon Titanium Blue. Representing a fusion of scientific prowess and artistic mastery, the new timepiece encapsulates a decade of revolutionary watchmaking by the brand, with it sure to be a captivating attraction this coming weekend.
The Conical Tourbillon Titanium Blue boasts a meticulously crafted carbon and black DLC titanium case, its aesthetic speaking to the forefront of contemporary design. The interplay of materials creates a harmonious balance, while the crown, fashioned from titanium with a DLC core, adds a touch of elegance. The domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and titanium side grids with a black background provide both durability and aesthetic allure. On the wrist, it measures 48.00mm by 52.30mm by 25.15mm, taking up space with its artistic project, but nonetheless secured with a sporty touch via a black rubber strap.
Adorning the dial is black coated brass, a canvas upon which a three-dimensional spectacle unfolds. The appliques, coated in black and illuminated with white luminescent numbers via a Lumicast material create a striking visual contrast. Against this backdrop, a mesmerizing dance of blue liquid ensues within a borosilicate capillary tube, with its movement serving as both HYT’s signature, and further as an hour indicator. Blue minutes hands, enhanced with white SLN, add a touch of order to the animation, while three rotating, liquid-filled spheres work around the 30-second central tourbillon together maintain the designed chaos.
Underpinning HYT’s horological marvel is the 701-TC. Beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and adorned with 61 jewels, this movement is a testament to the mastery of HYT’s watchmaking expertise, with its fusion of mechanical and liquid components blending seamlessly in style and function. A 40-hour power reserve supports its functioning, while its finely sandblasted and satin finish— coupled with a black coating— speaks to the brand’s fine finishing ability.
The HYT Conical Tourbillon Titanium Blue is limited to eight total editions, with pricing marked at CHF 335,000 (excluding taxes), or about $373,000 USD at the time of writing.
